[Kenneth McConkey; Museum of Fine Arts (Museum of New Mexico); Pyms Gallery.].   The painting — Sewer with Setting Sun by Vincent Van Gogh — that had so mesmerized me in has been prominently positioned in the Hermitage Exhibition, as befitting its iconic status. Aside from its captivating, highly unusual color scheme and its references to Japanese art, I learned from the excellent audio guide (E/Fr/D, with one for children in French) that it also alludes to van.   The collection is housed in a 19th-century villa in a quiet residential neighborhood, where state-of-the art offices border on ancient villas with large private parks.   The painting was later recovered in The Scream sustained considerable damage and had to be restored before going back on display in Poppies near Vetheuil, Claude Monet – one of the four paintings stolen from the Buehrle Foundation museum in Zurich in The painting was later recovered by Swiss police.
